Axiory Global Partners with the Belize Red Cross Society to Help Change the Life of Family of 8

25/05/2020

Axiory Global is happy to announce a partnership with the Belize Red Cross Society to transform the life of a family of 8.

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Axiory Global has stood behind some of the biggest organizations participating in COVID-19 relief efforts and we are now focusing on more personal and long-lasting projects.

A few weeks ago we initiated talks with the Red Cross, which is working closely with the Ministry of Health and has been actively helping citizens fight the pandemic since March 6th, 2020. Our mutual aim was to establish a sustainable project that would go beyond the lockdown period. Following in-depth talks with experts from the organization and upon their advice, we’ve reached the decision to help a family of 8 get through the COVID-19 crisis and change their quality of life forever.

We were guided by the Red Cross towards this particular family that’s led by their widowed matriarch with no access to basic needs such as water or electricity. Currently, the family lives in a ‘stick’ house where the 5 boys and 2 girls have no formal education, no proper place to sleep, and means that can barely sustain their survival needs. Their only source of help is the Ministry of Human Development Food Pantry program and the eldest son’s salary from discharging cargo trucks.

We jumped at the opportunity to sponsor this family through the Red Cross Society’s efforts to provide education for the kids, water and sanitation in the house, electricity connection, basic house appliances, and furniture as well as cover transportation and food costs for the next 12 months. In the meantime we’ll provide the mother training for a new set of skills to help her find work, something she’s eager to begin. By providing education to the kids and training for the mother, our aim is to ensure the family continues to develop and thrive way beyond the next 12 months.

We are very thankful for all the guidance and support the Red Cross Society has given us over the past couple of weeks and the efforts they have made to help people in need throughout the COVID crisis. Their work includes: helping spread awareness, procuring PPEs (hand sanitizers, Clorox wipes, masks and gloves) for staff and volunteers, assisting in nation-wide isolation centers, and working with the Belize City Council and Ministry of Human Development to relocate and assist the homeless during the nationwide State of Emergency.
